Why Columbia Church?
We believe wholeheartedly that there is nothing like the local church when the local church is working right! We felt as though Columbia needed a different kind of church–a church that meets people where they are and connects with them in understandable ways. For a clear and concise explanation of why another church in Columbia, take two minutes and watch this video: Church in Plain English.
What is Columbia Church?
Columbia Church is a group of people just like you, who are taking steps toward a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We gather weekly on Sunday evenings for worship, and then in small groups all across the city throughout the week.
Is this a video church?
Yes and no. We want to have the best and most relevant teaching for any given series. That means that we will use video of Andy Stanley (or others) at times and live teaching by our lead pastor, JD Richards, and other inspiring teachers at other times. We will use whatever other means possible to most effectively communicate the timeless truth of God’s Word to this generation.
How can I get involved?
Please click on the Next Steps tab above and see our Get Involved links for more information. One of the easiest ways to get involved is by joining one of our Strategic Service Teams.
What programs are currently available?
We currently hold weekly worship services on Sunday evenings at 6pm at 1215 Calhoun Street in downtown Columbia. We also have several small groups meeting in homes through out the week. And new groups are starting all the time! Family Ministry environments are in full swing, so bring your children with you on a Sunday evening. They will love UpStreet (for Elementary kids) and Waumba Land (for birth through Pre-K). Click on the Next Steps: Get Involved button at the top of the page for more details about how to take a step.
